REXALLOY®™ GRADE 33
Wear, Corrosion Resistant Parts & Cutting Tools

NOMINAL COMPOSITION
Carbon 2.25%
Tungsten 17.00%
Chromium 33.00%
Cobalt 44.00%

REXALLOY®™ 33 is our most popular all-purpose grade, of a family of cast, non-ferrous, cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloys having exceptional characteristics which render it suitable for cutting tools operating at greater speeds than are possible with the high speed steels.

The alloy additionally provides exceptional wear resistance for many room temperature and elevated temperature wear resisting applications. Some of its special characteristics are:

  • A hardness of about 60 Rockwell C which is unaffected by repeated heating, to elevated temperatures.
  • An exceptionally high red-hardness; superior resistance to abrasive and metal-to-metal wear (see Taber Wear Test Data)
  • Superior corrosion resistance.
  • The physical properties of being completely non-magnetic and spark resistant.
  • A low coefficient of friction and a high degree of dimensional stability.
